Q. How do I know when my pickup day is?
A. You will receive an email after you sign up with your specific pickup day. Pickup is normally the 1st Saturday of every month.
Q. How big are your bins?
A. Our residential bins are 62 liter bins, the dimensions are 23.5 L x 15.3 W x 12.4 H. They can hold 25 wine bottles standing up for spatial reference, plenty of space for the typical glass usage. Check out photos of our bins at @beglassyatl on our Instagram account.
Q. Does Be Glassy service businesses?
A. Yes. Please contact us for business plans based on your glass utilization.
Q. Do I have to pay monthly? I would rather pay upfront and not have a monthly payment?
A. Yes, we have annual plans available to pay upfront instead of monthly, which also gives you a discount.
Q. Do you offer services for townhomes or apartments?
A. We do. We have special rates for HOA or management companies interested in utilizing our collection services. Please refer to our multifamily plans listed under our Glass Pass section on our website for more info on those plans.
Q. Do your plans have any additional fees?
A. No. We do not charge any hidden fees, gas fees, or other miscellaneous charges other waste management companies charge. What you see is what you get.
Q. Can I take my glass to you and drop it off for free?
A. No, we do not accept drop offs. There are locations to drop off glass. Our service collects the glass from your doorstep for you.
Q. How much is service?
A. Please check out the header titled Glass Pass to look at all of our plans. Once you find the right plan, you can complete the checkout.
Q. Can I use my own bin?
A. We only accept our bins as they meet all regulations as well as size limitations for our trucks. If you have a bin that was previously used for waste collection recycling that is close to or matches our bins dimensions, we may be able to use them.
Q. What happens if I miss my pickup day?
A. Please make every effort to have your bin out on the pickup day for your area.We want to minimize our environmental impact by streamlining our route and reduce emissions. However we understand sometimes, things happen. If you miss pickup please send us an email or give us a call.
Q. Can I buy this for a friend or someone else?
A. Yes, list their information instead of your own when filling out the "Tell us about you" section and pick a plan for them. Continue to checkout as normal.
Q. Is there a contract?
A. No, we don't ever make you sign a contract for service or charge hidden fees with any of our plans.
Q. How do you recycle the glass?
A. We have equipment that converts the glass into sand. Sand is a critically endangered resource so your bottles are going into full effect when you recycle it with us. We are selling sand made from recycled bottles on our website for mainstream purchasing under our "Store" tab.
Q. How do I pay for my bin?
A. After you sign up for a plan, please locate our "Store" tab on our website to purchase the recycling bin. The bin is yours to keep. No security deposit or fee is imposed for the bin outside of this. If you prefer calling in the order a representative can assist you.
Q. My current recycling program doesn't recycle glass?
A. That depends on where you live! If you live within Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, or Brookhaven, Chamblee or Marietta city limits than your current program does not accept glass. Call your waste management collection to get insight on what can or cannot be recycled.
Q. When will I receive my bin?
A. You will receive your bin within 1 - 3 business days.
